The Community of Estes Park is such a giving, caring group of individuals and businesses. The staff at Marys Lake Lodge want to thank Claire’s on the Park, Shamrock Foods, Rocky Mountain Foods, Smokin Daves, Cheese Importers, Wild Basin, and the Dunraven for the wonderful lunches for all of us. We get through every day very well fed. We cannot ignore some of the incredibly kind condo owners that have been bringing cookies, snacks and drinks over the past almost three weeks. We would also like to give a very big thank you to the Estes Park Golf Course for donating the use of two golf carts during the time we have been restricted from using our vehicles on property.
We are so fortunate to have so many friends and such a supportive community. Thank you so much!

As the owners of Marys Lake Lodge, there are many people we need to thank. First and foremost, thank you to all the Estes Valley first responders who successfully ended the fire: Estes Valley Fire Protection District, and the Estes Park Police, and EPMC EMS. All of our guests were safe! Thank you as well to the many other fire departments from our region who responded to the call for help: Loveland, Longmont, Allenspark, Pinewood Springs, Glen Haven and Big Elk Meadows. Thank you Town of Estes Park, starting with Mayor Todd Jirsa and Town Administrator Frank Lancaster, for helping us as we face the restoration project. Finally, we have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of support from the Estes Park Community and beyond. We are thankful to be a part of such a great community.
We will rebuild. While there is a lot of work to do, Marys Lake Lodge WILL BE BACK! The damage was not as extensive as had been initially reported. Thank you to the restorers of Marys Lake Lodge for including significant fire protection between floors. Your work saved this historic building, along with the fire fighters.
All of our employees will continue to be employed with us during the restoration process. On Sunday morning, we met with all of our employees and are grateful for all our team members. The Marys Lake Condos were not affected by the fire. Most of our employees work to support the great service we provide to guests at the Marys Lake Condos. Our restaurant and banquet staff will be helping with the restoration work.
We have many weddings coming up and plan to be ready to service our Brides, Grooms, their families and friends in the Marys Lake Lodge tradition. Wedding parties over the next two weeks have already been accommodated, and we continue working with future wedding parties to ensure their receptions are a success. Thank you to our many wedding association partners who are working directly with us to provide an exceptional guest experience. Marys Lake Lodge, working with the Estes Park EDC would like to share the following questions and answers with the Public, Guest and our Estes Valley Partners.
Q: What’s happening?
A: Marys Lake Lodge experienced a fire on Saturday, June 23. They have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of support from the Estes Park Community and beyond! While there is a lot of work to do, Marys Lake Lodge WILL BE BACK soon. The damage was not as extensive as has been reported in social media and the press. They have many weddings coming up and plan to be ready to service our Brides, Grooms, their families and friends in the Marys Lake Lodge tradition.
Q: Who do I contact if I have an event scheduled?
A: Please start by contacting their event planner, Jessica (970) 576-4043 or
Annaleigh (970) 800-1150, who will assist you with any questions you may have about your upcoming event. Marys Lake Lodge is working closely with planned wedding parties to ensure their success.
Q: Who do I contact if I have lodging scheduled?
A: Please reach out to our Director of Lodging, Kaylee Bedford at (970) 699-8145 or Kaylee@maryslakelodge.com. Many future guests can be accommodated at the Marys Lake Condos.
Q: What if I need to change venues for my event? Will I get a refund?
A: You do not need cancel your event or search for another venue. Our Grand Room and ceremony site sustained no damage and we are still accommodating lodging guests in our condos. We are very hopeful that we will be able to host our weddings and events very soon, and we do not want to create any additional stress for our clients. If for any reason, we need to move your event to another location, we will handle the transition for you. We have already been in contact with venues and will be prepared with a backup plan. Again, we can accommodate our lodging guests who have reservations in the condos. For those who had reserved hotel rooms, we will upgrade them to a condo if possible, or we will assist in finding another lodging option in Estes Park for them.
Regarding refunds, if we do have to move your event, we will handle transferring what you have already paid to Mary’s Lake Lodge to the new venue. Again we are hopeful that we can keep your event onsite, but please allow us to continue to serve you so that you are not burdened by any additional work or stress during this time.
Q: What about their staff? Will they be able to retain them in the short and long term?
A: Yes! In fact, every one of their current staff is working and getting paid right now. They don’t anticipate any loss in staff or wages paid during the restoration.
Q: When will they be open for business again?
A: The owners and staff anticipate a timeline for restoration soon. They are making provisions to reopen the banquet spaces and provide catering as soon as practical. While the second floor was damaged, re-construction of affected areas should begin very soon and they are working very hard to reopen the first main floor as soon as possible.
Q: Can I start a fundraiser or is there somewhere I can donate money?
A: Ownership is in meetings right now to determine the financial extent of damages and while they appreciate the outpouring of support, they ask that people wait till they have more information. They do not anticipate that the business itself will need additional financial assistance.
Q: How can I/We help?
