Estes Park EDC BASE Program Company Spotlight: Vert Coworking

Owners Alix and David LaSalle held their grand opening of Vert Coworking on October 22nd. It’s the first dedicated coworking facility in Estes Park, designed to meet the needs of the increasing number of people who choose to live in a great mountain town but need high-quality connectivity and workspace for their professional endeavors. It also places value on the ability to balance productive work with other elements of a successful life: a great social network, wellness opportunities and easy access to the outdoors. Alix and David want Estes Park residents to know that while they serve visitors, their priority is serving those who have chosen to live here.

David attended the 2020-21 Estes Park Economic Development Corporation (Estes Park EDC) Business Accelerator Services of Estes (BASE) Program. BASE is the premier business accelerator program in the Estes Valley. Through partnerships with Larimer SBDC, Innosphere Ventures and business mentors, BASE provides customized hands-on assistance and business resources to the Estes Valley. David believes that “the quality of instruction was top-notch and the ability to get feedback on specific business ideas from peers who were also building businesses was invaluable. The modeling sessions using the Business Model Canvas were excellent tools to think clearly through the process and particularities of a new business.”

Alix was born and raised in Champaign, Illinois before attending the US Air Force Academy. David grew up in San Diego, California and attended San Diego State University and later joined the US Air Force in 1986.  After meeting in France and living abroad for years, they knew they wanted to move to the mountain west upon retirement. They are attracted to the many advantages Estes Park has to offer including a small community with great infrastructure. They love being surrounded by accessible, extraordinary natural beauty with easy access to big city amenities and an international airport.

In David and Alix’s free time, they work with wounded veterans through Challenge Aspen Military Opportunity (CAMO) which helps disabled veterans access sports. In addition, they were part of the founding of Flinch Forward, along with Adam Shake (President of the Estes Park EDC), in July of 2018. Flinch Forward’s mission is to forge protector values through leadership, camaraderie and purpose by providing opportunities for service and healing to those who are serving, have served and are willing to serve.

While the Estes Park EDC is headquartered at Bank of Colorado, its Entrepreneurial Center (E-Center) recently moved their office to Vert Coworking. E-Center staff enjoy the views of Rocky Mountain National Park, access to a functional gym and exercise classes, along with networking opportunities with local businesses and organizations.
